Elder Eugene Monroe was born to the late William and Mozell Monroe of Youngsville, NC. At a very early age, he knew that one day the Lord would call him into Ministry. He grew up in a family of Deacons, so the Word was always around him. His home church, Union Grove Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Sherrod, taught him you must always keep God first in your life.
Elder Monroe joined the Spring Street Christian Church through the marriage union of his wife Anne Dunn Monroe. The Lord has blessed them with three beautiful children, Kourtni, Korrey, and Korbin Monroe. He served as a Deacon for seven years at the Spring Street Christian Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Lenora Sanders, Deacon Joseph Lewis, and the late Deacon Cornelius Dunston.
Elder Monroe has completed several courses in Religion and Biblical Studies through Beacon University of Columbia, GA. He has also studied in Theology under the guidance of Reverend Rosa Walton. In 2008, he was ordained as “Elder” under the New Smyrna Diocese of Washington, DC, Bishop Earl Ross, and served as the Assistant Pastor at the Spring Street Christian Church.
In his words, “Today, a new day is arising in my life, and I am moving into the role of Pastor of Spring Street Christian Church. I have always told the Lord that I would preach his Word with Fire & Brimstone, and I would preach every sermon as if it were my last. I would like to give a special ‘thank you’ to the members of Spring Street Christian Church. The Lord has kept us thus far, and he will lead us on for his name sake. I can never repay the members of Spring Street Christian Church for all of the encouraging words and kindness that have been shown towards me and my family”.
Psalms 118:17, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.”
