JUST A FEW THINGS

As Christians we tend to hold back our testimony for many reasons: sometimes we just aren’t confident and assured we have something that can help someone else. Some times we want the person who harmed or hurt us to suffer, to know the pain they caused you. Sometimes we have the wrong motive for telling others about the goodness of Jesus…we brag instead of witnessing.

There is a young girl in 2 Kings 5 who had a reason to keep her testimony to herself; but she did what many of us will not do: she knew when to speak and she spoke these words to Naaman’s wife, her slave-owner: “If only my master would see the prophet who is in Samaria! He would cure him of his leprosy.” Just seven words that gave Naaman renewed hope that would free him of his disease.

I pray you are not carrying around bitterness and hatred in your heart for something that happened to you twenty or ten or 2 years ago. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you and let it go. This young girl was uprooted, taken against her will, made to leave her country, her language, her people, her family and become a slave in a foreign land. But she carried her belief and knowledge and trust in the Lord with her. She was able to let the bitterness, revenge and ill-feelings against Naaman and his wife be replaced by the love of God, His forgiveness and the promise that He would judge the wickedness of others. She was able to speak up when she had the opportunity to say just a few things, a few words about the God she served. This young girl was a light captured by Naaman; but she able to light-up a new path that would lead to the prophet in Israel whom God would use to heal him.

Is it time for you to speak up? Do you have one thing to tell that the Lord has done for you? Just ONE thing! There are seven words that can free others from the disease called sin: God can save you from your sin. If the Lord has been good to you…[are you breathing!]…then you ought to tell somebody. If doesn’t take a sermon, just a few words about just a few things the Lord has done for you. Enjoy Dottie Peoples, [click here] JUST A FEW THINGS , song selection.
