Many times, when one gives their testimony, they say “won’t He do it!” They are not asking a question, but seeking affirmation of anyone who’s been through something and know God did it…God brought them through it. It’s been one of those weeks! My heart heavy with the devastation Hurricane Dorian left behind and the suicidal death of Jarrid Wilson, a pastor and mental health advocate, and so much more. A friend told me she had to take a time-out from watching the news on TV…it was too depressing.
I know sometimes we want to take a time-out from the troubles, trials, and tribulations we face daily: our personal it. Health problems, financial problems, marriage and family problems, church problems, school and homework problems, job concerns, government and political trials…I don’t know the why, when or how your it will be resolved. But I believe God knows it. I believe God can do it. I believe God cares. I believe His plan for us, His children, will bring more good its than bad its. We still got to get through the bad its; but He promised to go through with us. You are never alone. His name is Emanuel; God with us.
I believe Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, [GOD] will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” But we still got to get in the water and pass through the river; we still got to walk through the fire…there will be pain and suffering; you can’t escape or avoid it. Through it all, we still got to trust God.
Be encouraged by lyrics from Tasha Cobb Leonard: You Know My Name [click here]. He won’t let the fire burn you, the battle turn you, the mountain stop you or giants defeat you. This is a song that brings a deep, down joy to my soul. Whatever you might be going through, I pray it comforts your soul. The Great I AM can and will do it for you!
From the Message Bible, 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 “So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times; the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.”
Praise God for His love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, compassion, peace and joy. Remember when you come through your it, tell somebody “Won’t He do it!”
